Etienne Seignovert - Un Hiver Sur La Lune - 2023
This is a remarkably complex orange wine, offering a tapestry of vibrant aromas and flavours. Expect an enticing bouquet of citrus fruits, alongside a delicate hint of pineapple and the exotic richness of mango chutney. The nose evolves with notes of zesty lime peel, fresh gooseberry, and a distinct waft of bergamot, leading into earthy, herbaceous tones of rosemary and the savoury depth of tomato leaf. On the palate, it’s well-balanced, with a thick, viscous texture that glides smoothly, offering a luxurious mouthfeel. The finish is exceptionally long, lingering with precision, while the wine shows tremendous ageing potential, promising to evolve beautifully over time.

The Viognier grapes are carbonic macerated without crushing for 10 days while the Roussanne has been crushed and the whole bunches are macerated with gentle hand punch down in open top fermenters for one and a half weeks before pressing. The pressed juice then ferments and ages in used oak barrels for 8 months. Bottled without fining, filtration or the additions of sulphur.
