The name “Super Lit” comes from Jason’s niece. She is two years old and Jason always said to her, Super Lit and she repeated after him and then they would always had a good laugh, and the name stuck. As the name suggests the wine is indeed Super Lit - meant to be part of Cuvee Weiss, but turned out so exceptional that Jason decided to bottle it on its own.
Vinification
The grapes for the Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) come from a plot in the neighbouring village of Bechtheim, where they have been planted about 15 years ago. After harvesting the grapes were fermented on skins before being pressed into large old oak. Like the other cuvee’s this wine has seen an elevage of roughly 9 months before being blended at bottling, without filtration or additives.
